July 3 Family Movie Night Mary Poppins Returns

In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Great for the whole family!  “When the world turns upside down, the best thing to do is turn right along with it.”

July 10 Celtic Worship (45 minutes)

Whether you are a stranger to prayer, a new pilgrim on a spiritual journey or a seasoned traveler seeking strength and inspiration. This time is for you. If you’re busy, stressed or unable to see the road ahead of you, it will help you to uncover new pathways, providing sustenance for life’s journey. Together we will be drawn into a time of quiet and stillness.

July 17 Guitar Jammers Gospel Night in the Park

Come bring a lawn chair and join us at Margaret Burgess Park for a time of singing and just enjoying the great outdoors. If you are a guitar player bring your guitar along and for 45 minutes, we will sing some of the oldies and maybe a few surprises.

July 24. Family Movie Night. Ralph Breaks the Internet

Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, “Sugar Rush.” In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet — the netizens — to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site BuzzzTube. Does this make sense, don’t worry we serve popcorn! Kids will love it!

July 31 Garden Night Peace Pole

When you plant a Peace Pole in your community, you are linking with people all over the world who have planted Peace Poles in the same spirit of peace. Every Peace Pole proclaims the prayer “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in the language of the country and often several other languages as well. Peace Poles can be found on all the continents around the world and soon to be in the garden beside Bala United

August 7 Family Movie Ugly Dolls

Although the Ugly Dolls may not be gorgeous on the outside, they’re certainly strong and beautiful on the inside. For them, life is full of lessons. Each of them has something unique about their personality that makes them special. Since the world does not see all of their skills and talents right away, they learn that it’s up to them to find the beauty inside of themselves, and to share it with others.

 August 14 Taize Servce

A Taizé worship service involves meditation, a period of silence, and liturgical readings. There is no preaching. The style of prayer practiced at Taizé France has attracted many worshipers from around the globe and from many different denominations. The prayers consist of “short chants, repeated again and again,” according to an introduction in a Taizé songbook. “The words are sung over many times.” Join us for a quiet, reflective evening, something we all need from a hectic busy summer

August 21. Music Night led by Bala Rockers/Rockin Lawnchairs

Come join us for a toe tapping evening with our very own Joe Gravell, Cal White and Fred Orchard! There is bound to be a few surprises!

August 28. Square Dancing (Keith and Gayle Mitchell Shantz)

Come to dance or just sit and enjoy the music. What a great way to end Wednesday Nights at BUC!
